Do I have to make a reservation to ride?

A

To ride the Ainokaze Cycle Train, you need to make a reservation in advance. Please make a reservation using the reservation form at least 5 days prior to the ride. If you are a travel agency or a group of more than 5 people, please contact us by phone.

Are all seats reserved?

A

Please use the numbered bike rack specified in the final information email to secure your bike. Please feel free to use any available seat.
Please note that some seats are not available due to the installation of the bike racks.

Can I buy a ticket in advance?

A

We do not sell tickets in advance. Please purchase tickets at the station on the day of boarding.

What is the reservation process?

A

Please apply using the reservation form on the website. You will receive an email confirming your reservation.
Please arrive at the station by 9:10am if you are boarding at Toyama Station, by 9:15am if you are boarding at Higashi-Toyama Station or 9:30am if you are boarding at Namerikawa Station.
Please purchase a special ticket for the cycle train at the ticket counter at the station.
On the platform, please wait inside the yellow Braille blocks according to the boarding door number on the final information email.

What is a reservation confirmation email?

A

This is the email sent to you after you have completed your application using the reservation form. It contains the details of your application, so please make sure they are correct. You will also find cancellation information here.

What is the final information email?

A

This is an email that will be sent to you 3 days before your ride. It contains the details of your reservation, as well as your boarding door number and bike rack number. When you board the train, please use the designated door.

I haven’t received any emails.

A

Major mobile carrier e-mails used on cell phones and smartphones may be treated as spam. Please check your email reception settings and call us at the following number. We will arrange to resend the email.

Can I use credit cards or electronic money for payment?

A

We are sorry, but we only accept cash.

Can I eat and drink in the train?

A

Yes, you can. However, please make sure not to disturb other passengers.

I don’t have a bicycle. Can I still ride the cycle train?

A

You cannot board the cycle train. Please take a regular train.

I don’t know how to use the bike rack.

A

We are a group of four. Can you seat us in a group?

A

The bicycles are automatically arranged by computer, so that they are placed as close together as possible, but depending on the reservation status, there may be cases where the same group is separated. Please be aware of this. Please note that all seats are non-reserved, so please take any available seats for your group.

How do I cancel my reservation?

A

Cancellation procedures are described in the reservation information email. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please cancel your reservation by yourself. Please note that reservations cannot be cancelled after 6:00 a.m. two days prior to the departure date. Thank you for your understanding in advance.

A typhoon is approaching, will the train still operate?

A

If a natural disaster such as a typhoon, strong wind, or heavy rain is forecasted, the train schedule may be suspended. In such cases, we will make every effort to notify our customers in advance (via e-mail, phone, etc.). Please note that the operation may be cancelled in the same way as other regular trains, due to sudden strong wind, heavy rain, or technical issues on the day of operation. Thank you for your understanding in advance.

Are elementary school students and younger children allowed to ride the train?

A

For safety reasons, children under elementary school age are not allowed to board the train alone. They must be accompanied by a junior high school student or older adult.
Please note that children under the age of elementary school are not allowed to board, even if accompanied by a guardian. Please understand beforehand.

Is there a discount for people with disabilities?

A

We do not offer discounts for people with disabilities, nor do we help in securing bicycles. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Is there a parking lot?

A

There is no customer-only parking available for the passengers. Use coin-operated parking space around Toyama Station or Namerikawa Station if needed.
※Parking fee shall be paid at passengers’ expense.
